The Billy Thompson Foundation hosted their first-ever Billy Thompso All-Star Gala, on Friday, November 10 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. As a basketball champion at every level, including back-to-back titles with the Los Angeles Lakers, Billy and his Foundation team will be pulling out the stops for this incredible inaugural event, which will feature celebrity appearances, an awards presentation for industry leaders (including Gary Lesser), dinner, entertainment, dancing and live and silent auctions. We raised vital funds for the Billy Thompson Foundation and its programs –the 5-Star Gifts Program, Champions Read Literacy Initiative, and Youth Mental Health Support –which provide opportunities for children and teens to succeed and become responsible leaders for the future. Cynthia & Billy Thompson are driven to build the Champion Center which will be a place that unites families and help individuals to achieve wholeness: mind, body and soul. Their current and future programs, will develop “champions” that are enriched spiritually, socially, emotionally and economically. The aim of the Champion Center is to provide young people with comprehensive programming that reduces recidivism and provides a platform for rehabilitation for troubled youth, builds character, cultivates literacy and create opportunities to achieve success.
